Every Sentry issue, a Jira ticket. Automatically.
Sentry's built-in Jira integration only creates tickets automatically on the Business and Enterprise plans. Autoticket brings automatic ticket creation to the Sentry Team plan — with two-way resolve sync, deduplication, noise filters, content templates, and an activity log that shows every sync, error included.
Illustrative mock: a Sentry error titled "TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'auth_token')" automatically becomes Jira work item WEB-142, a Bug with High priority, linked back to the Sentry issue.
Everything you need to keep Jira in sync with Sentry
Automatic ticket creation
Every new Sentry issue in a mapped project opens a Jira work item with title, culprit, environment, release, level, counts, a stack excerpt and a link back to Sentry.
Deduplication
Repeat events never open duplicates: one work item per Sentry issue, or one per issue and environment.
Resolve and regression sync
Resolving or archiving in Sentry moves the Jira item to Done. A regression reopens it with a comment.
Two-way status sync with loop protection
Moving a Jira item to Done resolves the Sentry issue; moving it out of Done unresolves it. Loop protection keeps the two sides from bouncing.
Noise filters
Per project: an environment allowlist, a minimum Sentry level, and an "only alert rules" mode so your Sentry alert conditions decide what becomes a ticket. Filtered events are logged with the reason, never silently dropped.
Content templates
Summary templates, tokenized labels, priority mapped from Sentry level, and required custom fields filled from simple templates, such as customfield_10051={{environment}}.
Activity log
The last 50 events site-wide, shown on the settings pages — created, synced, commented, filtered (with the reason), and errors. When something does not sync, you can see why without opening a support ticket.
Backlog import
One button imports your existing unresolved Sentry issues as Jira work items, about 25 per run in dedupe-safe batches, with saved progress so the next run continues where the last one stopped — day one covers the errors you already have, not just new ones.
Guided setup with a test work item
A live setup checklist tracks every step, and a "Create a test work item" button proves your issue type, priority rules, templates and required fields end to end — before the first real error.
Sentry issue panel
A panel on linked work items shows Sentry status, with a one-click "Resolve in Sentry" button.
Optional AI summary
Off by default. When enabled, Atlassian-hosted Forge LLMs add a one-sentence summary, likely cause and a suggested code area — no third-party AI key involved.
Resilient to rate limits
Jira API calls retry automatically on rate limits and server errors, honoring Atlassian's Retry-After.
Deterministic, two-way synchronization
Three steps, the same way every time.
Sentry error
A new issue or alert fires in a mapped Sentry project.
Jira ticket
Autoticket opens a Jira work item with the title, culprit, environment, release, stack excerpt and a link back to Sentry.
Two-way status sync
Resolving in Sentry moves the Jira item to Done; moving Jira to Done resolves Sentry. Regressions reopen the ticket.
Built to minimize what can go wrong
Encrypted credential storage
Your Sentry client secret and auth token are stored in Forge's encrypted secret storage, scoped to your Jira site.
Signed webhooks
Every webhook is checked with an HMAC-SHA256 signature, a ±5-minute timestamp window, and an installation id check.
Forge-hosted, no separate database
App code and data stay on Atlassian's Forge infrastructure. We don't operate our own servers or databases.
Admin-scoped configuration
Connecting Sentry is limited to Jira admins. Mapping individual projects is limited to project admins.
Sentry is the only egress
The only outside service the app talks to is Sentry: sentry.io and *.sentry.io.
No tracking
The app doesn't use cookies or analytics trackers, and doesn't sell or share personal data.
What you need
Jira Cloud
Any Jira Cloud site, with admin access to install apps.
A Sentry plan with internal integrations
A sentry.io organization on a plan that includes internal integrations, such as Team, Business or Enterprise. Self-hosted Sentry is not supported in v1.
About 10 minutes to set up
Create a Sentry internal integration, paste two values into Jira, and map a project.

Still have a question? Email support
Does it work on the Sentry Team plan?
Yes. Autoticket is built specifically to add automatic ticket creation for Sentry plans — like Team — where Sentry's own integration requires a manual click for every issue.
Is self-hosted Sentry supported?
Not in v1. Autoticket supports sentry.io (US) and regional SaaS hosts such as de.sentry.io. Self-hosted Sentry isn't supported yet.
How fast is the sync?
New Sentry issues usually appear in Jira within about 20–30 seconds, mostly Sentry's own processing time. Sentry → Jira status changes sync within seconds. Jira → Sentry changes usually take about 1–2 minutes, because Atlassian batches Jira event delivery.
What does the app have access to?
Only Sentry. The app's only outside network call is to sentry.io and *.sentry.io. The optional AI summary never leaves Atlassian's own infrastructure, and there's no other external service.
Will I get duplicate tickets?
No. Each Sentry issue maps to exactly one Jira work item, or one per environment if you choose that deduplication rule.
Can I keep staging noise out of Jira?
Yes. Each Jira project can set an environment allowlist (for example only production), a minimum Sentry level, or switch to "only alert rules" mode so your Sentry alert conditions — like "more than 100 events in an hour" — decide what becomes a ticket. Filtered events show up in the activity log with the reason, so nothing is silently dropped.
Can I import errors that happened before I installed?
Yes. The "Import unresolved Sentry issues" button fetches your currently-unresolved Sentry backlog and opens work items for the ones that don't have one yet, about 25 per run in dedupe-safe batches. Pagination progress is saved, so running it again continues where the last run stopped, and the result line tells you when you've reached the end.
How do I know the sync is actually working?
Two ways. The settings pages show a live activity log of the last 50 events — created, synced, filtered (with the reason), and errors. And a "Create a test work item" button runs your exact configuration — issue type, priority rules, templates, required fields — and creates one clearly marked, safe-to-delete work item so you can verify the result before the first real error.
Who can configure the app?
Connecting Sentry is limited to Jira admins. Mapping individual Jira projects is limited to project admins.
Is the AI summary required?
No. It's off by default. When a Jira admin turns it on, Atlassian-hosted Forge LLMs generate a short summary, likely cause and suggested code area — no third-party AI key or extra egress involved.
How is this different from Sentry's own Jira integration?
Three things. Sentry's integration creates tickets automatically only on the Business and Enterprise plans — Autoticket does it on the Team plan too. Sentry's integration can't fill required custom fields on any plan — Autoticket fills them from templates. And when an error regresses, Autoticket reopens the existing ticket with a comment instead of leaving it closed. Full comparison of your options.
Does setup work with an ad blocker on?
Yes. The admin and project settings pages are Atlassian-hosted Forge UI with no third-party browser scripts, so ad blockers and strict corporate proxies have nothing to block.
Will the Sentry panel show up in every project?
No. The panel appears only on work items that are actually linked to a Sentry issue — it stays out of the way everywhere else.
